Gold members and above park free and get priority spaces on level 1M. The Star’s parking page gives two different Tier Point thresholds for free parking at Bronze and Silver, so confirm yours at the desk before counting on it.

The licence question in Queensland

The casino is open and trading normally, but its licence has been on a deferred suspension for nearly four years. In December 2022 Queensland imposed A$100m in penalties on Star, appointed a special manager and ordered a 90-day suspension of the Gold Coast and then-Treasury licences, with the start deferred. In September 2025 it deferred the suspension to 30 September 2026 and extended special manager Nicholas Weeks to the same date. What happens after that date hadn’t been published as of 19 September 2026. The group’s Sydney casino is in a tighter spot: The Star Sydney has had its licence suspended since 2022.

Queensland also passed laws in March 2024 for mandatory carded play, cash restrictions and pre-commitment with time limits and enforced breaks at its casinos. We couldn’t find an official start date, so check the current rules with the casino before you rely on paying cash.
