SafeCasino verification: pass KYC on the first try
SafeCasino verification takes three things: photo ID (for most Australians a driver's licence or passport), proof of address dated within the last 90 days, and proof of your payment method if asked. Upload them the day you sign up, before a withdrawal is waiting on them.

What SafeCasino verification asks for
KYC (“know your customer”) is the ID check a casino runs before money goes out. SafeCasino’s version is spelled out across three of its own pages: the help FAQ, the sign-up guide on its Australian home page and the terms and conditions.

It works in your favour too. Because every payment method has to be in the verified account holder’s name, a stranger who gets hold of your password has a harder time sending your balance to their own wallet.
You can register without uploading anything. The check matters when money leaves: winnings from deposit-free offers can’t be withdrawn until the account is fully verified and a deposit has been made. Held withdrawals and heavy ID requests are also recurring themes in SafeCasino’s Trustpilot complaints; the legit check puts that record in context. Uploading on day one gets the step done before any money is waiting on it.
Australian ID and proof of address: what works
Australia has no national ID card, so for nearly everyone the photo ID is a driver’s licence or a passport. SafeCasino doesn’t publish a list of accepted address documents; the only fixed rule is the 90-day date. The table is our guide to the usual Australian paperwork, not an official list.
| Document | Use it as | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Driver’s licence (any state or territory) | Photo ID | In date; photograph the card itself, both sides |
| Australian passport | Photo ID | Photo page, with the two code lines at the bottom visible |
| State photo card (non-driver) | Ask live chat first | Not named in SafeCasino’s list |
| Medicare card | Not photo ID | It has no photo |
| Electricity, gas or water bill | Proof of address | Issued in the last 90 days |
| Bank statement | Proof of address | Last 90 days; can double as payment proof |
| Phone or internet bill | Proof of address | Issued in the last 90 days |
| Council rates notice | Proof of address, if recent | Often issued yearly, so usually too old |
If your state issues a digital licence in an app, photograph the plastic card instead. A screenshot is harder to check, and you don’t want your first upload to be the one that gets questioned. For proof of address, a PDF statement downloaded from your banking app is the easy route: it’s dated, it shows your name and address, and it has no glare.
The name has to match your account exactly. If your licence says Katherine and your account says Kate, get the account corrected before you upload anything. Documents also have to be in Latin or Cyrillic script, which an Australian licence or passport always is. A document printed only in another script, such as an overseas ID card in Chinese or Arabic, won’t pass even if it’s perfectly valid.
Proving a card or e-wallet is yours
SafeCasino asks for payment proof only when it wants it, but the rule behind the request applies to everyone: third-party payments aren’t allowed, so every card, wallet and bank account you use has to be in your own name.
| Method | What usually proves it | Never send |
|---|---|---|
| Visa, Mastercard, Maestro | Card front with your name, middle digits covered | The CVV on the back |
| Skrill, Neteller, Luxon | Account page screenshot with your name and email | Your wallet password |
| Bank wire | Statement page with your name and the payment | Your internet-banking log-in |
| Crypto | Ask live chat what they need | Your seed phrase or private key |
This is common practice, not a list SafeCasino publishes, so if the request names something specific, send exactly that.
If a deposit came from a partner’s card, a document in their name won’t fix it. Switch to a method in your own name before the next deposit and ask live chat how the earlier one will be handled.
Cards matter for a second reason. Card deposits from Australia can be refunded to the card only up to the amount deposited, and card payouts to Australia aren’t supported, so winnings leave through another method. Set that method up early so its proof is ready as well: open the SafeCasino cashier to see which withdrawal options your account shows, and read payment methods for how each one pays out to Australians.
Photos that pass the first time
A clear photo removes the easiest reason to turn a document down. Before you send anything, check it against this list:
- All four corners in the frame, on a plain dark surface.
- Flash off, with the card tilted away from ceiling lights so the laminate doesn’t glare.
- Colour, with no filters, crops or edits. An edited image looks like a forged one.
- Every character readable: zoom in on your own photo and check the name, date of birth, expiry date and document number.
- Bills and statements shown as a whole page, so the issuer’s logo, your name, your address and the issue date appear together.
- The same name and address as your account, character for character.
For a selfie with ID, use daylight, take off sunglasses and caps, and hold the card beside your face so both your face and the text on the card are sharp.
Selfies, calls and the two-week rule
Documents aren’t always the end of it. SafeCasino’s terms let the verification team ask for a selfie holding your ID, a selfie with your ID plus a sign they specify (copy their instruction exactly), a phone call, or a live video call.
The clock matters more than the method. If a verification call is requested and you don’t pass it within two weeks, the terms say the account is closed and the winnings are confiscated. Reply the same day, agree a time in writing, and have the same ID you uploaded in your hand.
The terms were last updated in August 2024 and name Skype for video checks, so ask live chat which app the call will use and install it before the appointment.
Phone checks and SMS codes both depend on the number in your profile, and the terms treat a missing or invalid number as grounds to suspect fraud. Save it as +61 without the leading 0. If the code never arrives, the login help page has five steps to try.
When to verify, and how long it takes
SafeCasino doesn’t publish a turnaround time for document checks, and this guide won’t invent one. What the terms do fix is below:
| Moment | What happens | What the terms fix |
|---|---|---|
| Registration | No documents, no SMS code for Australian accounts | Nothing to wait for |
| Before your first withdrawal | ID, proof of address, payment proof if asked | No published time |
| Verification call requested | Phone or video check | Two weeks to pass |
| Winnings from deposit-free offers | Full verification plus a deposit first | Capped at A$75 |
| After approval | The withdrawal is processed | Up to 3 days on some methods |
The order that saves waiting later is simple: register, upload your ID and proof of address the same day, then deposit small. A$10 opens stage 1 of the welcome package (100% up to A$1,000 plus up to 300 free spins), and the check can be done before you have anything to withdraw. The sign-up guide shows how to fill in the form so your details match these documents from the start, and the SafeCasino Australia overview sums up the rest of the offer.
When your documents are ready, log in to SafeCasino and verify your account by uploading them where it asks for them. If the upload screen isn’t obvious, live chat can point you to it.
Verify first, then open stage 1 with A$10
Register, upload your licence and a recent bill, then tick the welcome card: 100% up to A$1,000 + up to 300 free spins.
Rejected? What to send next
Match the reason you were given, or the one you suspect, to the fix:
| Rejection reason | What to send instead |
|---|---|
| Blurry photo or glare | A new photo in daylight, flash off, all four corners |
| ID expired | Your other photo ID: passport instead of licence, or the reverse |
| Address document older than 90 days | A bank statement downloaded today |
| Name differs from the account | Get the account name corrected, then resend |
| Address differs from the account | Update your profile, or send a document for the address on file |
| Not in Latin or Cyrillic script | An Australian licence or passport |
| Card or wallet in someone else’s name | Nothing; switch to a method in your own name |
Two rejections in a row? Stop uploading and ask live chat exactly which detail failed, because guessing costs time. If chat doesn’t sort it out, email support@safecasino.com with your account email and the dates you uploaded, and if that stalls, write to complaints@safecasino.com. The customer support guide has a message template for each step.
Keep every file you send and a copy of each chat transcript. Dates and copies settle a dispute faster than memory does. Once your account shows as verified, the withdrawal guide takes you through the cash-out itself: limits, methods that pay out to Australia and processing that can take up to 3 days.
Questions Aussies ask
What documents does SafeCasino need for verification?
Photo ID (passport, driver's licence or national ID card), proof of address dated within the last 90 days, and proof of your payment method if the team asks for it.
Can I use a Medicare card to verify at SafeCasino?
Not as photo ID. A Medicare card has no photo and isn't in SafeCasino's list, which names passports, driver's licences and national ID cards, so use your licence or passport.
How long does SafeCasino verification take?
SafeCasino doesn't publish a turnaround time for document checks. The one fixed deadline in its terms is on your side: if a verification call is requested, you have two weeks to pass it.
Why was my proof of address rejected?
The likely reasons are that it's older than 90 days, shows a different name or address from your account, or is cropped. Send a full-page bill or bank statement issued in the last 90 days with your name and home address on it.
Can I verify with a document that isn't in English?
Only if it's in Latin or Cyrillic script. SafeCasino's terms don't accept documents in other scripts, so an Australian licence or passport is the simple choice.
Does SafeCasino do video verification?
It can. The terms allow a live video call, a phone call, or a selfie holding your ID, and if a call is requested you have two weeks to pass it before the account is closed and winnings are confiscated.
