Your withdrawal is still pending: what to do, in order

A pending withdrawal is almost always one of five things: verification is unfinished, a bonus is holding the balance, the payout method is not the deposit method, a weekly or monthly cap has been reached, or the request was reversed — by you. Work through them in that order before you contact anyone, then send the message at the bottom of this page. The last section is the one no affiliate writes: how to tell a delay from a refusal.

First: is it pending, or is it processing?
Cashiers use both words and they mean different things, which is why two people with the same screen get different advice on forums.
Pending means the operator still has the request and has not approved it. The money has left your playable balance but has not been sent anywhere. In most cashiers a pending request can still be cancelled — which is both useful and dangerous, as reason 5 explains.
Processing, or approved, or sent, means the operator is done and the payment is in the hands of the payment rail: an e-wallet, a blockchain, or a bank. At that point chasing the casino achieves nothing, because the delay is downstream of it.
Find which one you are looking at before anything else. It is in the transaction history in the account area, not on the balance widget. Note the exact timestamp of the request while you are there, because every section below is measured from it.
The usual clock: the pending window, then the payment-rail window
There are two queues and people routinely add them together wrongly. The operator's own stated figure covers the first one only.
| Stage | Who controls it | Typical behaviour |
|---|---|---|
| Pending / review | The operator | Set by the operator's own terms. SafeCasino's terms say some methods take up to 3 days to process. Weekends and the operator's timezone matter. |
| E-wallet payout | Skrill, Neteller, Luxon | Usually fast once approved, often the same day |
| Crypto payout | The network | Minutes, plus the network fee; a wrong network means the funds do not arrive |
| Bank wire | Your bank and any intermediaries | The slowest route; intermediary banks can also take a cut |
| Card payout | — | Not supported to Australia, so a card deposit must come back another way |
Two figures worth having in front of you before you complain: the stated processing window for your method, and the withdrawal caps. SafeCasino's published caps are 4,000 EUR/USD a day, 16,000 a week and 50,000 a month, with minimums of 10 EUR/USD equivalent for e-wallets and crypto and 500 EUR/USD for a bank wire. Figures move, so read them in the cashier rather than here — that is the whole point of reason 4.
Put your own timestamp into the box below and it will tell you which window you are in, rather than whether you are being robbed.
How long has it actually been?
Enter the hours since you submitted the request and the processing window the cashier states for your method. Nothing is sent anywhere.
At the example values: 20 hours elapsed against a 72-hour window. You are inside it, so there is nothing to escalate yet — use the time to finish verification.
Arithmetic only: window = days × 24, minus any weekend days you tell it to exclude. It does not know your operator's queue, and it is not a promise about your payment.

Processing windows, minimums and caps change without notice, and the only version that counts is the one next to your method today. Read it, then come back to the calculator.
Reason 1: verification is not finished
This is the most common hold by a wide margin, and it is usually invisible: the request sits pending with no message while a document waits in a queue, or waits for you to notice an email. Identity checks are mandatory before a first payout at any serious operator, so the question is never whether you will be asked but when.
Three documents cover most requests, and each has a predictable failure mode:
- Photo identification. An Australian driver's licence or a passport. Rejected most often for a cropped edge, a flash reflection over the photo, or an expiry date in the past. Photograph it flat, in daylight, with all four corners inside the frame.
- Proof of address, dated within the last 90 days. A utility bill or bank statement showing your name and the same address as the account. Rejected most often for being too old, for being a screenshot of an app rather than a document, or for a name that does not match the account exactly.
- Proof of payment. Asked when the deposit method does not carry a name — a prepaid voucher, for instance. The purchase receipt or the reseller's email, with the code covered except the last four characters.
Two rules save days. The name on the account must match the name on the documents, including middle names and hyphens; a nickname at sign-up is the most expensive shortcut available. And the account holder must own the payout method — third-party payments are not permitted, so a partner's wallet will fail the check no matter how legitimate the arrangement is. Our verification guide lists what passes first time.
Reason 2: an active bonus is holding the balance
If a bonus is still running, part or all of the balance is not yours to withdraw yet, and the cashier may show that as a pending or refused request rather than as an explanation.
Two separate conditions apply at SafeCasino and they are easy to confuse. The welcome match carries x40 wagering, and while a bonus is live no single bet may exceed A$8 — a bet above that cap can void the bonus and its winnings outright, which is the rule that catches people who get bored of A$8 spins. Separately, and regardless of bonuses, every deposit must be wagered at least three times before it can be withdrawn, or processing costs may be charged.
That 3x rule is the one nobody reads, and it explains a specific complaint pattern: deposit A$100, play a little, request A$100 back, and find the request refused or held. A$300 of turnover is the condition, not A$100. Our wagering requirements page turns both multiples into an expected cost, and the bonus page sets out the staging.
Check whether a bonus is active before you contact anyone. If one is, the balance figure in the corner is not the withdrawable figure, and no amount of chat will change that.
Reason 3: the withdrawal method is not the deposit method
Anti-money-laundering practice pushes money back the way it came, and where that is impossible, the operator has to approve an exception — which takes a human, and humans take days.
In Australia this bites hardest in two cases. Card deposits cannot be paid back to the card, because card payouts to Australia are not supported, so a card depositor must nominate a different method and have it verified. And prepaid vouchers have no return path at all: Neosurf pays in only, which is covered in where to buy a Neosurf voucher.
The fix is boring and effective: open and verify one outbound method — an e-wallet or a crypto wallet in your own name — before you need it. A request made on a verified method that the operator already accepts is the fastest version of this process. A request that triggers a method exception and a document review at the same time is the slowest.
Reason 4: a weekly or monthly cap has been hit
Caps are a legitimate, published term and they are also where a large win turns into instalments. Where a daily, weekly or monthly limit applies, a request above it is not paid in one piece — the excess queues for the next period, and in some cashiers that shows as a single pending request that never seems to move.
Three things to establish from the terms rather than from a forum: what the cap is for your method and your account level, whether it resets on a calendar period or a rolling one, and whether a single large request is split automatically or refused and returned to your balance. The third is the one that matters most, because a refused request that lands back in a playable balance is how a withdrawn win gets played back.
If a cap is the cause, the useful question to support is not “why is it slow” but “confirm the schedule on which the remainder will be paid, in writing”. Higher account tiers can sometimes ask for an exception; ask before the win rather than after it. The published figures are on our withdrawal guide and in the VIP page.
Reason 5: the request was reverse-withdrawn, by you
Many cashiers allow a pending withdrawal to be cancelled and returned to the playable balance. It is presented as a convenience. It is, in practice, the single most effective mechanism for ensuring a win is never paid out, because it puts the money back within reach during the exact window in which waiting feels worst.
Check your transaction history for a cancellation you made and have half-forgotten — late at night, on a phone, in a moment of impatience. If there is one, the withdrawal is not delayed; it was withdrawn by you and the clock restarted whenever you requested it again.
If this is a pattern rather than an accident, treat it as information rather than as a failing. Deposit limits and a cooling-off period exist for exactly this, they are free, and they take two minutes to set. The message to send support, word for word
Five facts turn a complaint into a traceable case. Send all five in the first message:
Hi. A withdrawal is still pending and I would like it checked. Amount: A$620.00 Requested: 6 October 2026, 9:40pm (Adelaide, ACDT) Method: Skrill, same account used for my deposit Status in my transaction list: pending Verification: ID and proof of address uploaded 2 October 2026, both marked approved Please confirm: 1) whether the request is approved or still in review, 2) whether any document or information is outstanding, 3) the date on which it will be sent if approved. Please also give me a written ticket reference. I have not cancelled the request.
Three things not to do. Do not cancel and resubmit to “refresh” it — that restarts the clock and nothing else. Do not open a second request alongside the first. And do not send documents to anyone who contacts you about the delay: a public complaint attracts people offering to recover money, and that is a second loss rather than a solution.
Keep everything. Export or screenshot each chat before closing the window, note the ticket reference, the agent name and the time. If this becomes a formal dispute, the timeline is the case.
Escalating: what to keep, what to screenshot, in what order
| Step | When | What to ask for |
|---|---|---|
| Live chat | Once the stated window has passed | Status, outstanding items, a send date, and a ticket reference in writing |
| Written ticket by email | 24 hours after the chat | The same four things, with the chat transcript attached |
| Complaints address in the terms | 5 to 7 days with no movement | A formal response, citing your ticket reference and timeline |
| The regulator the licence names | After the operator's own process is exhausted | Whatever that body's complaint form requires |
| Payment provider | Only if the operator says it was sent | A trace or transaction reference on their side |
Keep four things from the start: the request timestamp, every chat transcript, the verification approval emails, and a screenshot of the withdrawal terms as they read on the day you requested it. That last one matters more than it sounds, because terms change and a screenshot is the only version you can prove.
And be clear-eyed about where the ladder ends. There is no Australian licence behind an offshore casino, which means no Australian regulator will take the complaint and no Australian consumer protection applies to the account. The dispute route is whatever the operator's own licence provides, and finding it in the terms is step zero, not step four. Why no Australian body will take the case sets that out in full.
Advertisement: find the complaints address before you need it
Step zero of the ladder above is reading which licence and which complaints route the operator names in its own terms. That takes two minutes now and saves a week later.
When it is not a delay
Most pending withdrawals are paid. Some are not, and the signs are reasonably consistent. Treat any three of these together as serious:
- The reason changes each time you ask, and no single outstanding item is ever named.
- Documents already approved are requested again, repeatedly, in slightly different forms.
- A bonus or a terms breach is raised for the first time only after the withdrawal request, not when it allegedly happened.
- Chat is available instantly for deposits and unavailable for payouts.
- You are offered a bonus, free spins or a “goodwill” credit instead of the payment.
- The request is cancelled back into your playable balance without your instruction.
What follows from that, honestly: with no Australian licence there is no Australian remedy. The practical options are to exhaust the operator's own complaints process in writing, then take it to the regulator its licence names, and to report an unlawful service to the ACMA — which can lead to site blocking but does not recover money for individuals. That is the whole list. Anyone promising recovery for a fee is running a second scam on the first one.
Which is the argument for the one habit that actually protects you: make a small withdrawal early, before any large balance depends on the process working. A A$50 test payout is the cheapest due diligence available anywhere in this market, and it is worth more than every review score on the internet. Methods and their payout rules differ between operators, so it is worth having that information for more than one.

Not a suggestion to move money today. Before any future deposit anywhere, compare the two sets of withdrawal minimums, caps and stated windows side by side — that comparison is the useful one, and it is free to make.
Questions Aussies ask
How long is too long for a casino withdrawal?
Measure against the operator's own stated processing window, plus the payment rail. Inside that figure there is nothing to escalate. Once you are a day past it with no named outstanding item, start the written ladder — chat, ticket reference, complaints address.
Should I cancel a pending withdrawal and request it again?
No. Cancelling restarts the clock, puts the money back within reach, and achieves nothing else. The reverse-withdrawal button is the most common way a win stops being a win.
Why do they want my ID after I have already deposited?
Because identity checks are triggered by the payout, not the deposit. It is normal. What is not normal is the same approved document being requested repeatedly in slightly different forms, which is one of the signs in the last section.
Can I withdraw to a different method than I deposited with?
Often you must. Cards cannot receive payouts to Australia and vouchers cannot receive them at all, so a second method in your own name is required. Set it up and verify it before you need it; doing both at once is what makes a payout slow.
They are offering me a bonus instead of paying. Should I take it?
No. Accepting a bonus can attach new wagering conditions to a balance you were trying to remove, which converts a payable amount into a conditional one. Ask for the payment in writing instead, and keep the offer as part of your timeline.
Can my bank help if the casino says it was sent?
Only with a transaction reference, so ask the operator for one in writing. On a bank wire, intermediary banks can also hold or trim a payment, so the trace is worth having. On crypto, the transaction hash settles the argument either way within a minute.
Is a withdrawal cap legal?
It is a published contract term, so the question is whether it was disclosed, not whether it is allowed. Read the caps before a large win rather than after one, and get the payment schedule for the remainder in writing if one applies.
What is the one thing that prevents all of this?
A small, early test withdrawal on a verified method, before any large balance depends on it. It tells you the real timing, the real documents and the real behaviour of the operator for about the price of a round of drinks.
